Students from Blue Coat Church of England School in Coventry visited the Houses of Parliament on 29 April 2025, taking part in a memorable educational experience.
The group had the opportunity to sit in the public gallery, observing parliamentary debates and gaining insight into the workings of British democracy. During the visit, the students met with Lord Khan, Minister for Faith, Communities and Resettlement, who spoke about the importance of interfaith dialogue and community cohesion. Lord Khan encouraged the students to play an active role in promoting understanding and respect between different faith groups, drawing on Coventry’s rich tradition of peace and reconciliation.
The visit was part of Parliament’s education programme, designed to inspire young people to engage with civic life and appreciate the value of diversity. Blue Coat School, known for its inclusive Christian ethos and commitment to ‘living life in all its fullness’, continues to foster values of care, respect, and togetherness among its students
